I knew that Dad had sent them to me as a message of love and assurance. If we remain open to the possibilities of the energetic presence of our loved ones, we may be able to sense a sort of communication. Love messages may come to you in the way of a knowing, a feeling or sensation of their presence, a touch, a whisper, a scent , or perhaps a sign like a bird or a butterfly. Photo by Tom Norquist  Form/Non-form or Other Phenomenon of Non-physical Realm It was mid-morning, July 27th 1995 when we finally left the hospital the day of my 10 year old son Craig’s passing. It was sunny and warm as a perfect summer’s day. As we were driving home I closed my eyes. Within a moment I experienced an astounding vision. I saw Craig! He was jubilant and happy. He was in a meadow of beautiful flowers with intense sunlight. He was dancing and playing there with many children who looked just as joyful and happy as he did. It was an extremely comforting experience! Later I named that vision "Sundance" because of the intense sunlight that I saw and the happy vision of the children dancing and frolicking. I have never experienced such stunning and radiant sunlight. Attempting to describe this is subtle and abstract for me. It was powerful, concentrated and beautifully effervescent! There was a palpable warmth emanating from this light which was accompanied by a soft comforting radiance. The feeling that lingered far beyond the momentary vision was that of a sense of knowing that I had experienced interconnectedness with a realm of unseen non-local, non-physical, subtle energies. In my work as a psychic medium I love to receive messages, visions and signs from the spirit world. For me, there is no doubt that our loved ones in spirit seek out ways to communicate with us. I know that it brings them joy to keep shining their love-lights upon us, even if we aren't fully aware of their presence. So, keep an open heart. Keep watching and listening. Be patient and trusting. Talk to your loved ones and ask them to help in communicating. Your efforts just may result in some very happy experiences. It’s been many years since I grew up in the beauty of abundant earthly surroundings as a girl living on a farm. Sandwiched in between my precious childhood days and this glorious week in the mountains of Montana there has been much busy-ness and many life distractions. I have taken far too little time for just BEING as resting in the healing power of our natural world. On a perfect snowy winter wonderland kind of day Tom fitted me up with a pair of old fashioned snowshoes made of hickory. We walked together joyfully on top of several feet of snow. Like excited children we delighted in every step we took as we wandered our way into the most magical mountain forest setting I’ve ever seen! Tom had previously shared stories with me about his experiences in the mountains since his arrival here in September. As we trekked along I enjoyed his stories in expanse as he pointed out where some happy experiences took place. With much tenderness he re-shared stories of guiding friends on grand adventures to search for the perfect Christmas trees from the abundant evergreen forest. Woven into our delightful walk was a most wonderful story about Annick, the property owner, and how she treasures these trees while protecting them with inexplicable passion. Once she went so far as to threaten to chain herself to certain majestic trees to prevent them from being cut down. Several times I paused to catch my breath as I tried my limited best to take in the exquisite beauty that surrounded us. The ethereal magic of that which was filling my senses was beyond any words one might conjure up in attempting an adequate description. Magical moments leave us wonderstruck like this sometimes. What has shifted for me within this gentle week of radiant blessings, unconditional love and stunning beauty has been a return to the truth of what really matters. This deep knowing resides within every soul. The knowing is this: We cannot truly thrive when we attempt to live our lives within the stress created by the countless demands of the programs that are running our world. Instead, it is our very highest purpose to rediscover and return to our place of Heart.....the sweet place of wonder, respect, tenderness, compassion and gratitude. And wondrous Peace. Mother Earth (Gaia) is our life-giving force. When we reverently commune with her from the sacred place of our Hearts we begin to remember our Oneness with her. I know, it's not automatic for us to do this. Our brain-based thoughts always want to be heard first and foremost. Our brains are used to being in charge. Thought patterns are automatically generated that are designed to "protect" us from choosing positive change, courage and release of negative thoughts and emotions. After all, these vulnerable heart-based choices could open us to being hurt or disappointed. My continuous practice of heart-centered intuitive living has brought me loads of opportunity to observe outcomes, both of heart-based choices and reactive-thought choices. Every time the heart wins, I win. An open heart makes space for all things of beauty and inspiration to drop into. It's the perfect space that holds our dreams for us. At times it's been scary. But the good news is that every time I charge past thought-generated fears my mind becomes significantly quieter and stays that way. Our hearts know how to guide our human experiences. But I feel the need to add a more appropriate descriptor. This city is a place of hearth (heart merged with earth.) My late morning walk along the frosty Lake Street pathway transported me to a sacred space of joy within every life-breath I took. Serenity enfolded my grateful soul and I embraced peace beyond imagination. This simple beauty illuminated my spirit. It whispered with inexplicable reassurance that All, indeed, is One.

In the process we often don't hear the whisper our intuition….that still, calm voice that tells us what is best for us. The sweet whisper comes to us in still moments right before mind chatter fires up. If we don't grasp the knowings when they surface, we lose them. Painting freely in a child like manner takes us out of our analytical minds, providing direct access to the wisdom of our hearts. We all need healthy ways to express our feelings. When we paint with abandon we express our truth. The brush helps us do so as it moves freely from heart to canvas. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~` One day a number of years ago I became inspired to try painting and drawing. Much to my amazement the first time I touched my brush to the paint and engaged with the paper, "something" started moving the brush. Something from deep inside of me, but not directed by my analytical mind. To me, it was purely magical! The more paintings I did, the more I realized that my intuition, my guiding life force, was painting out my feelings and inspirations. Reflecting on these paintings, I discovered expressions that were very important to my personal journey of healing and expansion.
